Positive social changes may be undertaken without being under a banner of faith. All it takes is to understand the problems associated with society and human relationships, ethics, morals, etc, and deal with these issues in an appropriate manner.
Perhaps easier said than done. But the point is, it doesn't take religious faith to do that, just the need and the drive.
However, this has nothing to do with determining what is or what is not true when it comes to the core beliefs of religion....the existence of the God of that religion, or the existence of any sort of thing that could be called a ''God''
