It shouldn't be able to affect us. But we were too open and allowed too much foreign buyers into the market.

Australia is dumb. We put ourselves in this situation not Trump or anyone else Try buying a house in China and see how far you get. They protect their real estate markets from foreign interference.
Another big factor in the chinese pull-back is that a fair chop of the money that came here was 'hot'.
And the chinese government has been sending the dog squads out to reel it back in.
Again I say we should have been much more stringent and much more protective. But this is why our country never learns - because people here are very selfish, short sighted and outright greedy.
