I have no strong opinions on this but food and its production is being more regularly recognised as a major contributor to climate change..... in particular meat. Been hearing a lot more on this in the last few months and by the looks of things it will be hitting the papers a lot more going forward.
The below article and link to the research report is the first thing I came across on google when typing in "meat climate change". I'm not taking sides or trying to make a point. Just bringing it to people's attention on this thread.
