Lol...Probably 3 / 5th of FA difference. She was a very public figure and very anti uranium but the majority are pro-uranium so it wouldn’t make much difference if she stayed or goes.
In truth, this project is really lucky from an environmental perspective. There is no native or endangered flora or fauna there. There is already elevated natural background radiation (we aren’t introducing it like you would perhaps an underground mine by bringing it to the surface). There is a lake created on impermeable rock (which is devoid of life) and available for tailing storage.
The only leg the environmentalist have to stand on is (perhaps) the dust from the blasting of the rock however this is covered in the EIA in detail (I assume).
Combine that with the fact this project will bring employment (to a disappearing town Narseq), taxation & royalties (for the government), hydroelectric power plant (for the mine as well as the local communities) as well as a port to support new industry for exports.
To be honest im very bullish (if you hadn’t already guessed!)
