Its looking more likely that the $13,500 Million  Santos takeover will proceed. Santos has been a lame duck that stalled progress on Muhalo. It is amazing that a minnow like Comet has  had to fund Santos fieldwork to get this asset unearthed. I praise the Comet management for there innovative solution to work around Santos poor management and lack of commitment that has been totally vindictated by the massive reserves confirmation and subsequent Santos repayment.

Santos purchase by a cashed up American and Global oil and gas giant that is clearly ready to make moves and do deals has got to be a positive. I note that Harbour energies top priority (in the article below) is "Increase drilling activity in Eastern Australia to enhance supplies of gas". Combined with Harbour stated intention to "invest further in Santos existing assets and to pursue the acquistion of additional natural gas and LNG focused assets in Australia" I believe this can only be a positive for Comet.

The Santos takeover process,  may just give Tor and James the few extra months to progress these assets developled to a point closer to production enabling us to get top dollar before the cheque book comes out.
