Make no mistake Sandfire have a voracious appetite for assets with Degrussa running low on reserves.
All the excuses for the low share price here being “this market” are folly...
Look at MOD,s share price since Dec 4th 37.5c down to close Friday 22c and now a raise at 30c and SFR offer at 37c......
HLX down suspiciously similar since the same date.
Sandfire are going after assets in geopolically stable jurisdictions and they wont be alone.
Sandfire just pegged the largest landholding in Cobar by a Mid Cap for some time if ever.
WHY?
I figure its not a coincidence. If the Blackbutte project is further delayed SFR is really up the creek in a very big way.
Do not underestimate the race for near term production assets!
Not limited to but for example AMI,AIS and SFR all are in the hunt for growth as well as a band of private equity mobs, EMR capital anyone..
The Copper space will be hot for some time regardless of world growth or the tick for tick copper price as this development shows.
Aeris only started exploration again after an extended hiatus and have had several successful campaigns already. All there prospects /deposits are under extensive cover like our very northern ground maybe.
What Helix does have is a deposit that starts at surface at Collerina, a potential mirror at Yathella with higher grades in oxide than above Collerina and several targets that outcrop or have extensive geochemical anomolism whithin 10km of current drilling. Widgielands with extensive outcrop and workings 20km away and still have 55km left of trend that hasn’t even seen a Geo on it in 35 years.
You would think that with 85km of prospective trend, numerous targets already deliniated, recent success at Aeris with the trend projecting onto our ground in the North, our Southern acreage producing what looks an economic high grade deposit of Copper,Zinc,Gold and Silver, 3 projects in Chile 2 free carried and one for sale. A high grade gold deposit next to Aurelia with potential for a monster VMS not yet explored in the Cobar gold project and Mundarlo with really only one hole drilled anywhere near the zone with High grade Cobalt, Copper,Gold and Zinc geochem anomaly that is between 10 and 14km long.
If you can find a better Copper play than Helix for under $12M in a geopolicatlly stable country i would suggest you are doing exceptionally well. Don’t discount the Chile assets either, a long shot but mind bending pay off if it were to produce...
Not back, just read this artical above and thought with Sandfire pegging Cobar ground HLX maybe next or is the lowball at MOD a feint and we are the target, who knows.
