IMO it's extraordinary that people don't see the hospital maternity packs thing as a positive step. The larger operators go to great (and costly) efforts to get their own brand of nappies into the hands of new mothers. If they like them they'll buy them for the next few years. Supposedly great efforts are being made to get them into the larger chains, not something that happens quickly. These things are concurrent and with a new business everything hopefully fits into place. ECQ are also targetting a specific demographic, they're not going head to head with the multinationals right now. It's the existing, proven and considerable green nappy sector that they're targetting for the near future. These mothers fit their demographic, and people who want green products will often go out of their way to get them.
Maybe this is why the company has ambitions abroad? A lot of people just aren't getting it here.
