Overall Objectives
LBT Improve Patient Outcomes by making healthcare more effective.

Our company has developed a patent protected machine learning and intelligent imaging platform technology to deliver the only FDA cleared instrument utilising AI technology in clinical microbiology.

LBT is adding to its software engineering team to build internal capability for the continued development and validation of its products and AI development platform. We are seeking a Software Engineer who will produce and validate software for LBT’s products and tools to support the training of the AI platform.  There is a high requirement for testing a range of applications that have been configured or built internally.  The software development will be carried out within the regulatory framework required for the development of software for medical devices.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to expand your skills and develop the expertise needed to create software in highly regulated environments.

Role
Software Development

• Initially (12 months), under supervision, performing validation of computerised systems used to support the development of LBT’s AI medical devices
• Ongoing development of software for LBT’s medical devices in accordance with IEC 62034
• Development of software that forms part of a regulated process for the production of LBT’s AI based medical devices
• Integrate new software for and supporting existing systems
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Develop automated tests to provide coverage across the development environment
• Conduct comprehensive software testing and writing relevant test reports and protocols
• Preparation of validation plans, testing protocols, user training plans
• Maintenance of existing applications

Desirable Skills / Experience / Knowledge/ Education:

• 1+ years software development experience
• Knowledge of high level languages (C++, Java, Python, JavaScript);
• Knowledge of a range of software development technologies such as web technologies, Linux, scripting languages and development tools;
• Excellent written communication skills
• Basic understanding of machine learning would be an advantage
• An understanding of quality systems and regulated software development would be an advantage
• Must be pro-active, with a focus on execution within specified timeframes
