re: break fee East coast producers have the best of both worlds. Freight subsidisation to Middle Eastern markets by freight advantaged WA producers. Yet in a drought year they can completely avoid the pool and the concentrated costs associated with having AWB manage that pool and sell for cash domestically. Can't continue. Won't continue. Rationalisation badly needed for the grains sector. Too much dead wood and inefficiencies, particularly with marginal producers and in storage, handling and freight.
