We'll what AVJ does when interest rates go to 10%?



Costello warns housing boom near end

The Federal Treasurer Peter Costello has warned property investors that the surge in the unit market is coming to an end.



Mr Costello says the housing boom will not last forever and he expects property prices will plateau out.



The Treasurer has told Channel Nine one area where the boom is coming to an end is in the medium density unit market.



"There has been so much construction. People buying these units thinking they can put a tenant in, do it as an investment that we are now getting to a situation, I believe where supply is greater than the market wants and you are now seeing prices in that area of the market coming off."
