I've been trying to get something of a handle on this market. All I've got is my charts - I don't watch the news here at all, very rarely look at the local paper, and make no effort to know what is going on - I just don't care. I do read a few posters on HC, but really, very few.
So that brings me back to the charts. I don't like the action on the S&P 500.
Here's my chart and what I'm pondering:
And then there are the Aussie indexes. I spent some time last night playing around with the longer time-frames on the XJO and to be honest, I find it a bit alarming. I want a raging bull market that I can make some dough on, but right now that is not what we have, and every week I look for the reversal that is needed but in our unique way of running around like a headless chook, unable to find a lead from anywhere, our market is just flapping around waiting for big brother to make it's case known.
These are very long-term charts, they contain a lot of history, and that history always has a story to tell. I suppose I could pose the question "If history keeps on repeating itself, why would it not do so again now?" I have no interest in following the American news flow, all I know is that Trump isn't popular. I have no idea if there is some wonderful set of events that are about to turn this market around. I'm not seeing it yet in the short-term charts, and I'm definitely not seeing it long-term.
Not trying to be Martis here - I'm incredibly positive about things in my own life these days. Just feel the urge to post this stuff and get it out there. It is weird, I didn't plan to be back on HC posting this year - it just happened. I started looking at charts for the first time since I left in 2016 and it has just rolled out from there, as if it is meant to be.
Long ramble, better post the charts...
