To add to that Stweeve, my major blunders over the last 3 years have been of commission rather than ommission.

Selling RFL (rebought luckily), CAJ, BGL all because they became momentarily overvalued and I lost sight of the long term picture...

Sure I made money with the proceeds in new stocks - but weighing up the opportunity cost of the tax, brokerage and most importantly the stress involved with thinking and committing to a new investment - I highly doubt it was worth it!

With that said I have sold some quite effectively (TGA, JIN, EAX, RFG), so I too remain torn on the subject!!!
