haven't been thro the whole thread so it may have been mentioned but apparently the Russian plane was hit because there was an Israeli jet shadowing it - the s300 picked up the Israeli jet which then hid behind the Russian plane thus making it a target. one thing that bothers me is that the plane was landing - so why didn't anyone see the Israeli plane from the ground? maybe they did I don't know.....
I don't know if this is true but if so raises the spectre that Israel purposely had the Russian in their sights and is trying for a further provocation
the Russians know that if either Syria or russia for that matter and certainly iran fire upon and down an Israeli plane it would give Netanyahu the excuse he is looking for to ramp up operations in Syria.
this is one time I'm against Israel and their aims. Netanyahu also has been crowing about the inevitability and immediacy of iran getting a nuclear bomb. he actually started this in 1994 when he said that by 1999 iran would have a nuclear bomb capable of levelling tel aviv or Jerusalem.
it may well be that they do indeed have one however - possibly more
