Hence admitting the lack of current S200 integration btw Russia and Syria and hence blind firing by the Syrians leading to the IL-20 shootdown and hence the Syrians, not the Israelis responsible.  Clever ruse by the Syrians/Russians to up the ante.  
But Israel is going to see through that and the obvious BS case made obvious in Russia MOD's own 3d sim; that their jet was 'hiding' behind the IL-20.

Israel sidelined for now wrt Iranian weapons shipments, but that just means the pressure will build up more and war with Hezbollah will almost a certainty now once they are flush with Iranian weaponry.  Iran will command them to 'push Israel into the sea' and what will Russia / USA do then?  

Arguably this is one small step for Russia, one large step towards WW3.
