The small russian contingent in venezuela, on the face of it, must be feeling quite vulnerable, unless there is some other factor in play. Russia has let it be known any response to an american provocation is likely to be assymetric, so a military response in Venezuela or elsewhere is unlikely, so is an attack on the dollar, but a revelation backed up by evidence that there is very little gold left in Fort Knox could be a possibility. We can watch how the situation unfolds and draw our own conclusions.
