The inaugural endeavor by Central Bougainville Event Planners (CBEP) to host a public event has yielded success.
The CBEP’ first outing saw the hosting of the highly successful Bougainville Day that was celebrated in two consecutive days, June 14-15.

The event was far from the usual sombre government organized events and was a big hit with Arawa residents as well as visitors from outside Central Bougainville.

In commemorating the day there were school competitions for best floats, best traditional and contemporary dances and the best referendum song.

There was also live music provided by local bands as well as the famous Aunge Punks who rocked the stage alongside the younger bands.

The two-day event was made possible thru sponsorship from SMLOLA & RTG as majors sponsors, followed by BCL, Jayberth Stationary, PNG Power Arawa, Pacific Signs Arawa, Aung ee Punks Band, Hangers Tarven, Gold Dust Service Station, Equal Playing Field, Kieta and Panguna district office.

The chairman of CBEP, Mr Morea said, we are very thank full that The sponsors came on board for this very important day, especially SMLOLA & RTG and BCL. Thank you very much.

“We have shown that we can stage big events if we put our hands together and I thank the people of Central Bougainville, schools, the stakeholders and the international community for turning up in numbers,” he said.
Mr Morea told the people that the next event will be bigger and better with the team doing an evaluation to cater for any room for improvement.

Central Bougainville Events Planners is a no profitable organization formed last year 2017.
The organization was formed after seeing the absence of such a group to organise, coordinate and facilitate Government, Public and Private sector events, meetings, gatherings, events of importance to our communities, Government, district, region and the country.
