Hi livas1
I have been thinking about the Malaria Conference and the benefits that we may gain from attending and having a poster presentation. So far I have failed to find any information re the posters and wonder why the lack of information for general reading. Obviously much to gain in the general area of Malaria from meeting so many interested parties in the fields of administration, medicine, politics and research just for starters.
But it got me thinking about the Malaria problem in the Asia-Pacific region in general. This area has in the region of 15% of the worlds Malaria sufferers and even though lessons can be learnt EMS are not carrying out any testing or trials in this region. Does this mean that when we have success with our African trials we must repeat the process in the Asia-Pacific or can WHO give it a stamp of approval? Does anyone know the answer?
My other thought relates to malaria mutation and resistance to the medicine...is this local to the Asia-Pacifc region or is it similar in Africa?
Hopefully somebody can answer this one as well.
