DLE are backed by chinese money and the chinese can do strange things. the most likely reason is because they have an adjoining tenement. if they have one tenement there already it makes sense to either acquire more or drop what they have - and they've acquired more.
still, that $3m will be handy for a few bonuses and a few lunches and leaving parties. you wont see much of it.
