I lived in India for 10 years. The Indians are more strategic long term thinkers than westerners who are more focused on short term profit. For example they have reduced mining their iron ore because the think their stocks will be worth more in the future and they are happy to import at current prices.

India is developing as fast as China and is more desperate for coal longer term. RIV's leases leave a lot of coal to be added to the overall resource.

Whilst there is nothing certain in life, I still have a feeling they will enter the bidding because of their longer term thinking
