you are essentially relying on the banks adoption of ripple to increase the price however the promise of Cryptocurrency in general and Bitcoin in particular is to eliminate the banks in the transfer of money . Using ripple or any other coin will not solve this problem for the banks . They are about to become obsolete .
I suspect that it will be first in international payments when multi nationals will use lightning with its instant transfer and low possibly zero fees to transmit value between n their national offices . Adoption by the general public will take longer even with the new apps that are apparently coming with lightning .
We have not been given a start up date for lightning but given that the first real time transmission of value has recently occurred and given that there has been large scale testing of lightning on BItcoin and Litecoin . It is likely that 2018 will be the year that we see stage one of the long drawn out death of the banks with the multinationals moving to start transmission between the national branches on Bitcoin and away from the banks
