Hiya HT! Share price/market cap of IVA is looking cheap, eh?
I was just reading an article- not about IVA- but about block sales. It says that block sales (to insto's/sophisticated investors, etc) are normally 3%-5% discouint. The article says that a block sale for Aurison shares was done at a premium, ehich was unusual (guess this could happen with IVA, too, with some luck). Article from AFR (for members or take a free trial):
HT1, your comment on a buyer buying all 53% is interesting- if they bought the lot, they'd have to make a takeover. If they wanted a takeover, shouldn't Rio sell at the premium that would be given to other shareholders? If RIO sold at a discount to a suitor, and then others got the premium, but not RIO, it doesn't make much sense, as RIO would be the only loser.
