I dont know of any detector capable of finding a speck at 1m, if they were that good they would be having trouble keeping up with demand. Most would not find a decent nugget that deep.
To find a speck of gold at 1m would require so much power you would need to carry a couple of car batteries to run it. Even if that were true, the detectors sensitivity can be adjusted to any level so i think what you are saying is ill informed.
