They can vent as much as they like. I very deep cyclical business like BKW needs its investment in SOL to tough out a very negative period in the cycle of building.
Have a few friends in the industry. Most say they are struggling to find real work doing the smaller stuff but not enough. smaller renovations not efficient and dont use as much materials as new builds per them. The presentation of BKW I always use to gauge the economy. I struggle with the gap in what must be a three speed economy.
What I cannot do well is deciding to invest directly in the underlying investments. BKI is attractive from the Dividend but in reality the underlying discount in SOL is too good to give up.
It has become a problem for me as I keep trying to work out what the right mix of underlying shares is good for me. the one I think Sol dont have enough of is TPG. I am hoping that if they buy something SOL will take up a disproportionate amount of the placing.
This share forms the cornerstone of my defensive portfolio.
