Hi Hwill! You have made some valid points in your post & in particular I refer to the apparent affect on charities etc. I do find that rather obnoxious for anyone to give advice suggesting reducing giving to those organisations as a way of saving money. Individuals themselves will be quite able to assess their own consciences/situation in respect to that. In regard to everyone remaining positive etc. I find that hard to agree with from personal experience. Since I'm unaware of your age group I'll assume you can recall the collapse of certain building societies back in the early 90's. At that time I ignored the rumours & remained positive, even to the extent of adding what was to me a substantial further sum to my account only to fall victim to reality. At the time I held the attitude that if everyone panicked that would be exactly the actions that WOULD cause disaster & so I refrained from doing so. It is an expensive lesson unfortunately to learn that your individual effort has no beneficial effect on those circumstances. So in theory I agree with you but regrettably the problems are just too big. As for people discussing these events at BBQ's etc., well that's just normal human reactions/interactions which will be with us forever. It's probably better for your own mind not to dwell on those issues & just accept that in times like this one simply cannot change the world no matter how much we wish we could. It's all too big & eventually things WILL be sorted out & the world will move on. Regards!
