However, in your example I would certainly not want to be known as a director within a company unless I was fully aware of my duties under the Act and I had consented. If I worked for CGB you can call me whatever but please don't call me a director.
Call me Senior Communications Officer or something similar.
We have "change in directors holdings" notices but not change in operations manager notices.
An operations manager is an operations manager. Director is a director because it denotes a specific position within the company and it carries the burdens of that position.
What we do not know is if Neil has consented to becoming a director (as opposed to just using the title) of CGB. To become a director one must consent. That means you are assumed to be aware of your responsibilities.
A good challenge though and we would both be better positioned to answer the question if we knew whether Neil has consented to becoming a director of CGB?
CGB must also advise ASIC if Neil has consented to becoming a director.
