BELLAMEL MINING LIMITED – BEN HUR DRILL RESULTS AND RESOURCE UPGRADE
RESOURCE UPGRADE 2.8 MILLION OUNCES Bellamel Mining Limited is very pleased to announce that it has increased the JORC resource at the Kalgoorlie West Gold Project by a further 70% to almost 2.8 million ounces of gold as a result of drilling and re-modelling of the Ben Hur Deposit. The Ben Hur Deposit covers approximately 2.5 kilometres of strike at the southern end of the Kalgoorlie West Project and includes 3 deposits previously reported as Ben Hur 1, 2, and 3. The new resource estimate for the Ben Hur Deposit is 32 million tonnes at 1.19g/t Au for over 1.2 million ounces of contained gold and is classified as follows: Class Tonnes Grade (g/t) Ounces Au Measured 4,261,800 1.21 165,180 Indicated 3,291,600 1.24 131,240 Inferred 24,555,600 1.17 923,800 Total 32,109,000 1.19 1,220,850 Within this resource a higher grade resource of 384,000 tonnes at 4.96g/t gold (over 60,000 ounces of contained gold) has been delineated below cover in the Ben Hur 3 area. While this resource is currently classed as inferred it remains open along strike and at depth and has the potential to be exploited by underground development. The new Ben Hur resource brings the total resource for the Kalgoorlie West Project to: 74 million tonnes at 1.17g/t gold for 2.8 million ounces of contained gold. The resource is classified as follows and includes over 1.1 million ounces in the Measured and Indicated categories: Class Tonnes Grade (g/t) Ounces Au Measured 13,299,000 1.15 491,500 Indicated 15,167,000 1.35 658,380 Inferred 45,383,000 1.12 1,628,050 Total 73,849,000 1.17 2,777,930 A table detailing the resource contained in each of the 9 deposits at the Kalgoorlie West Gold Project is attached to this announcement. BELLAMEL MINING LIMITED – BEN HUR DRILL RESULTS AND RESOURCE UPGRADE The Ben Hur orebody is hosted in a conglomerate unit which has been weakly deformed against a porphyry body during regional folding. Mineralisation appears to have occurred in two phases – an initial lower grade phase which mineralised the entire unit and a second, higher-grade phase associated with quartz veining. The basement porphyry is also mineralised in places which may be a result of this second event or indicate that it is a metal source. The deeper mineralisation at Ben Hur 3 was discovered by Placer Dome after hole BHD039 returned 15m at 3.29g/t Au. Bellamel successfully targeted the extension to this mineralisation in KWDD002 with an intersection of 16m at 5.05g/t. Subsequently holes KWDD011 – 018 were drilled resulting in the definition of a higher-grade sub resource of 384,000 tonnes at 4.96g/t gold. The Company is currently designing follow-up programmes to extend and better delineate this high-grade zone with the aim of defining an underground resource. About Bellamel Mining Since listing in November 2007, Bellamel Mining has aggressively explored the Kalgoorlie West Gold Project, completing over 60,000m of drilling in that time. In addition the Company has outlined over 2.8 million ounces of resources at its Kalgoorlie West Gold Project as detailed in the attached table. The strategy of increasing potentially open pittable resources is ongoing and further resource upgrades are expected. On 29 May 2008, Norton Gold Fields Limited announced its intention to make an off market takeover offer for all of the ordinary shares in Bellamel Mining Limited (the Offer). Under the Offer Bellamel shareholders will receive 4 Norton Shares for every 5 Bellamel Shares held. After careful consideration (including separate assessment by the directors), the directors of Bellamel have unanimously resolved to recommend that Shareholders ACCEPT the Offer. The mineralised zones have been solid modelled and the drill holes composited to 1m down hole against these solids. Block models were created from these zones with parent cell dimensions varying between 10 to 20mN (along strike) x 5 to 20mE (across strike) x 2 to 5mRL (down dip) Au grade was estimated into block models using Multiple Indicator or Ordinary Kriging depending on data density and grade continuity conditions. Tonnes were assigned using default specific gravities dependent on weathering conditions, this varied between 1.85t/m3 (completely oxidised) to 2.7t/m3 (completely fresh) The mineral resource is classified according to geological continuity, grade continuity, a measure of drill spacing based on kriging error and comparison to mining history. The resource is reported at a 0.6g/t cutoff below the recorded extents of old open cut workings.
