dont see how you can question a journo's ethic. the md said it - the journo reported it. all media report news 'as if fresh. if monthly magazines started out with 'x happened 3 weeks ago' they wouldnt sell many editions
any md knows - if you dont want it reported you dont say it
really not that big a deal. until you see an offer price and acceptance there's no change to earnings or outlays
imagine theyll get a lot more unsolicited eois though
