Respironics ( RESP ) is RMD only competitor in the APNEA disorder arena . Both control 99% of the world market . A new ( ALLEGEDLY ) entrant has been named about 6 months ago . As foreshadowed at the time , the entrant was the excuse the market used to mark RMD down from its high valuation . Period . Current weakness stemmed from general bad sentiment in the USA ( RMD is primarily an American stock ) equities markets , its past hi valuation ( not anymore though ) and a recent change in the German PBS and the recent appreciation of the A$ v US$ . RMD is the technological leader in this field . No one is even closer to its high standard . It is the "TRINTRON" of the apnea market !
