Thinking more on this, I just can't see that Gerard would have just resigned myself, knowing him as i do and being the type of guy he is!

My guess is that this is all part of something much bigger happening in the background; maybe a takeover or merger?

Maybe the board had to remove Gerard to move forward with any possible merger or takeover plan?

Purely speculation here on my part of course. I do reckon something is going down though.

Personally i don't really care what happens that much now, as long as the SP starts to move upwards after 7 long months of painful SP descent and a deafening silence from the company.
