Just borrowed this from Twin Turbo Celica on the LCK thread. (Thanks TTC):
Leigh Creek Energy also pointed to Origin Energy’s (ASX: ORG) recent sale of the Ironbark gas project in Queensland to Australia Pacific LNG, which it said has set a new benchmark price for gas transactions currently uncontracted and still in development, at $231 million or $1.79 per gigajoule.Ironbark’s 2P coal seam gas reserves are almost 10 times smaller than Leigh Creek’s reserves.“While there are multiple financial data points to consider in any transaction, based on the transaction metric of acquisition price to 2P reserves alone, this would potentially provide Leigh Creek Energy with an implied valuation that exceeds $2 billion,” the company stated.
If we come in with 2P around 200Bcf then on the same basis we could be looking at $400M+ as a market cap.
Food for thought.....LCK may be a crystal ball on what we can expect when reserves are certified.
