It seems that the Government are wanting Bondy to put up $5.5 million towards the "clean up" at Chinchilla.
It is about time all mining companies, especially those operating in Qld, banded together and fought this legislation brought in by the pollies in Qld regarding personal liability of large shareholders being responsible for "clean up " costs. There is absolutely no proof of contamination by Linc but the people are being led to believe that they are proven guilty. Natural justice is dead in Qld now.
The Government were the environmental overseers of Linc while they were operating at Chinchilla. They should be held accountable for inadequately doing their job if all this contamination was taking place on their watch.
Please don't tell me that in time this legislation won't be extended to include all shareholders, even if they only hold one share, because it will. This is how government works. They get through what they think the people will cop and then keep working on introducing a little bit more, and a little bit more, until it is completely what they want.
