Not so sure about that @BigLeon, agree it's tough to break into the rental market but there's a chance it can be done and by all accounts RNT seems to be getting some traction. In regard to the $100 gift card, I think you will find the card is being offered in rental downturn areas like Perth, investors/owners are slashing rents and the $100 gift card is most likely paid by the owner in addition to RNT's success fee simply to find a tenant. I think it's a great strategy as it not only creates a carrot for a tenant but also provides a feedback loop for the tenant to say they found the property on the rent.com.au website. When you don't have critical mass you need to be smarter than the competition and, to me, it feels like RNT is agile, smart and are doing everything they can to get to critical mass. I like what I see.
