I am living in Finland and unfortunately everything is expensive, fuel, roads, people... Yesterday had a digger and truck working on our small back street all day clearing away truck sized piles of snow accumulated.

However the Finns work very efficiently, the snow rarely slows things down, but roads are cleared, people drive to work on snow with the spiked tyres, no delays. Things are planned well and just work, without stuffing around or talking about them for years. There seem to be a lot more big construction and roading projects going on, than I was used to seeing in NZ. All in all I think costs are high, but things get done well in Finland.
