Property Week UK reports that the EC Commission is reviewing valuation rules.re the banking crisis. Looking at layered valuations with a long term view for long term assets. Basing on other criteria than a short term market in a crisis populated with a few distress transactions. This will take a few months.
This will have a material relevance to AEZ, GMG etc such as in covenant compliance.
Another thing to think about in the longer term view is how much these retail assets would cost to build now, and how much land in that sort of location would be worth longer term. In the EU as much as anywhere they arent making any more of it.
