@kpax, Age and risk profile you said. Well mate age is very important and even more important than risk profile IMHO.

But you failed to address something else which I wrote in the past back in the AOH threads. And that is that over the many years of investing, I have never ever made one single dollar from any Canadian nor North American Company I have been invested with. If you are looking for some people with an extremely good and strong gift of the gab you haven't got to look past them as far as I am concerned. I could even go as far as saying that some of them they are even able to sell bare sands to the Arabs while telling them that it was a good bargain and the best bargain of their lives.
After all they have been very good at convincing our people to jump into bed with them while making sure that they were taking our cash along with the deal as well.

Now what happened with the accumulated franking credits we have/had, if any.??? No mention at all about them. They could have been given back to us via a special dividend but, that would have interfered with the deal going on, would it.?

As for investing in the CBA, well mate like you I have been with the CBA for a very long time too. As a matter of facts and if my memory serves me right, ever since they were at $5.24 or thereabout per share when I bought about 10,000 of them, and I am still holding every single one of them. I have also given up the idea of taking any notice or advise from Brokers too and things never looked better since I took that stance.

One thing is for sure here, and that is that as far a dividends and their past records, you will get a big fat zero, zilch, nicht.

As for me, I will wait and see if the share price will reach the levels of what we were been told we were going to receive for the SoA, and then, more than likely and depending on how I feel on the day, I will bail.
