I dont think so, I live in a tropical town on the coast, most Air Cons here would run 12 months of the year. We have a rental property here as well as the house we live in, Air Cons get serviced twice a year. In 20 years I cant remember a bill for any parts or repairs! Occasionally a unit gets changed out as the externals eventually rust out.
