    Hi-Q is approved for human use, as it's a surgical procedure. They take the patient's fat, spin some stem cells out of it, then squirt them into your knee, soothing the inflammation and regenerating cartilage.

    What isn't approved for humans yet is CryoShot - essentially the same as Hi-Q, but produced from donor stem cells, hence a pharmaceutical product, needing approvals (and all the long, detailed, expensive trials that go with them).

    As digga73 alluded to, CryoShot is currently being effectively trialled (for money) on dogs and horses in the US.

    It's a matter of when, not if, CryoShot becomes a common treatment. But they'll want to get into gear, as there seems to be many different ways to derive the cells, and no shortage of research into regenerative treatments.
