Hate to say it, and most likely politically incorrect, but when you deal with the Chinese, you never actually know the outcome until the $$ are handed over. There is a long litany of aussie companies getting duded by the Chinese.
This deal was on the ropes from a very early stage, and certainly since it was divulged that HNA were in a very black hole. They probably should've pulled the plug on the deal back in May when it was becoming apparent HNA were becoming less than enthusiastic.
Having said that, AHG is actually a great business. I agree with others that the distraction has been, well, distracting. If the business is on the block then the distraction will continue. You gotta hope that the directors can walk and chew gum at the same time!
