Strangely, the present owners do not consider the deposit to be worth their effort. Billions of dollars of silver at crazy high-grades yet, nah, not interested. So, either the past/present owners are idiots or there is something dodgy about those Russian numbers.

Exploration work at the Akjilga silver and copper deposit in Tajikistan continued in 2009 which improved
the understanding of the ore body. At present, Kazakhmys does not believe Akjilga to be of sufficient
scale to develop further and accordingly is reviewing options for the deposit.
