since you quoted me on this, some more detailed performance numbers are probably in order.
I measure performance by NTA change + dividends. All the fund managers use more generous interpretations of performance which annoys me. At least my way takes into account the fees and charges they pretend do not exist.
Since the float in March 2004 CTN have an average performance of 0.69% per month. Compare with WAM 0.69% and ALF 0.90% over the same period. CTN has been fair poor over the last 6 months which has brought their number back down (to WAM). You should also remember when ALF was having a bad trot at the start of this year. Its the long term that counts for me and nobody can predict the future.
Just remember that the ASX300TR using the same calculations and same time period has a 0.72% per month return. You can (almost) buy this with an ETF (I use VAS) but you do not get the amount of franking credits that WAM and ALF pay and they do charge a management fee so the real return is less. CTN also has less franking but more than an ETF.
Just remember, this stuff is only my hobby and you should do your own calculations.
