In Australia anyone who is younger than 50 years of age has not experienced a recession. Most of the workforce has only seen the good times of economic growth, employment, rising house prices and unbridled consumer and household spending (debt and leveraging). Whole country has been complacent for decades as we have dodged one bullet after another not because of good management but because of good luck and policy makers kicking the can down the road.

The luck has now run out. The recession that we have to have has now become the depression we have to have.
