I often wonder what CWE would have built if they had won the tender. After the Garden Island they determined that the CETO 5 approach (onshore generation from fluid pumped ashore) was too limiting due to power losses between the buoy and the shore. The subsequent CETO 6 design is both much larger and has on-board PTO, but was nowhere near ready. I assume they would have used CETO 5 type technology, but it's not clear whether that would have produced a great result.
