Could it be that PEN management is not interested in a field leach trial due to the time it would take to get results, thus delaying production? It seems likely that the WDEQ will approve a license amendment for acid lixiviant, therefore there should be no regulatory impediment to a field leach trial. And a trial would provide an opportunity to not only measure the effectiveness of acid lixiviant, but to also assess proposed groundwater restoration plans.
