I believe SKO has a low grade 4 million ounce resource and around 250k ounces in reserves. WGX needed the funds for its expansion phase and had originally agreed to sell SKO to another company for $80m, but that deal did not get finalised. NST has the skillset to properly explore this area, so perhaps they may have a bargain, but the main attraction at present for NST was SKO's mill that will allow them to increase gold production from their nearby mines.
Lets not forget that WGX got SKO and the Higginsville mine for $50-60m from Alacer at the bottom of the gold market.
