@mrs84 many people share your frustrations & everyone's decision to buy / hold / sell is different.
However it is worth pointing out that your statement in regards to guidance and quantitative milestones is actually out of CVT's control. CVT is classified as a small cap company as per the ASX guidelines and in the trading rules, this prohibits the company from making forecasts, this includes forecasts in respect to earnings and guidance to the market.
It's in the company's best interest to be as transparent as possible with shareholders and I believe they are doing the best they can whilst complying with the ASX listing rules. In the last quarterly update TT was able to provide some short term milestones that he company is looking to achieve and I believe all shareholders are able to read between the lines here in respect to what these would mean for the company in terms of sales / revenue. I would expect that CVT upon making these announcements will provide as much information as possible in terms of expected revenue to be generated for the company.
One of two things is happening at the moment for CVT:
- The share price is under performing (due to the reasons listed below), whilst the fundamentals of the company continue to improve. This trend will eventually break as the market will at some point reflect this value in the share price (my feeling is this will happen when one or two of the short term milestones are achieved).
- The share price under performing is a reflection of the deteriorating fundamentals of the company and at some stage in the near future, the fundamentals will reflect what is transpiring in the share price. I personally do not believe this is what is happening.
TT himself stated that the company is in a much better position than where they were upon signing the Cisco JV with the share price at 60c, however the market is failing to ascribe any value for the hard work done by all. Unfortunately the market has changed and the appetite for small cap tech, especially pre cash flow positive has been brutal over the past 6 - 12 months, with many 'market darlings' trading at a fraction of their 2015 prices. We are not immune to this.
The share price is out of our control and the reasoning behind shareholders choosing to sell at current levels varies. Stop losses, de risking, other positions within someones portfolio not performing and shareholder from the existing shell that CVT was back doored into choosing to take their capital and move on.
IMO patience will be rewarded here....
