They have a lot of followers hoping to be led to the holy grail.
At times the red heart is like a poisoned chalice, and they come under fire from the forums they visit. A lot of activity springs up on the forum when they arrive, curse-ed when they leave.
A lot of posters have a very distorted view of how HC postings can influence the SP.
It's easy to blame somebody else, rather than taking personal responsibility for your own actions, and your destiny.
