Thanks for that information, Cat.

Unfortunately, the shares are in my own name. I am a UK investor, and this is not the first time this sort of thing has happened, and its on an increasing trend these days to cover certain backsides. I don't think I've lost out too much because of the timing of the offer,but even so I'm still not happy.

Seems to me that ever increasing legislation to prevent money laundering etc will only ever hit the small investor. Most are aware that these laws and regulations are made for those who already keep the law and not for those larger entities who can easily get round any compliance issues.
