re: cloud computing Plenty of room for everyone.

It's the early movers - BP began in 2006 with VMWare - proven technical competency, recognition by the masters of the universe - many pretenders claim lots of "partners"in the IT business but in the case of the public cloud - BP stands as the only Aussie Premium Consulting Partner to the global giant AWS. A validation of their technical expertise and respect in this emerging industry.

Any self employed IT guy hooking you up with Microsoft's Office365 can call himself a cloud integrator in the "cloud space". I am only interested in the likes of BP - the ability to deal with complex integration of medium/major enterprises to the cloud + ability to offer on-going "mission critical" managed services. The premium revenue stuff.

The move to the cloud - private/public/hybrid is a disruptive game-changer. The losers will be the traditional
IT consulting/in-house. Several listed companies may claim to operate in the cloud space - but they are not focussed and are lumbered with data centre ownership, IT equipment reselling, low margin IT personnel contracting and competitive bidding for lumpy contract work etc. Think Macquarie Telecom, Melbourne IT, Nextdc, Data#3 etc.

Winners? - do your own research.
