Redlight, no, nothing official as yet about Lafayette. That would be a valuable win, if it comes off, and a pointer to Baton Rouge, maybe?
The pace this year is a little breathtaking, with eight, yes, eight new cities signed, plus the major extension at Chicago, and the re-activation of the Loop 101 speed systems. The "up to" total (and cities may not instal all of them for quite some time, if ever) now stands at 400 approaches signed in the first two months of this year.
To put this in perspective, we should remember that, in the whole of the 05-06 year, Redflex installed 220 approaches. Another interesting metric of their success is that the largest competitor, ACS, has less than 400 approaches installed in the US.
Somebody is doing something right.
