I somehow think people have over the decades lost the ability to make sound decisions about their income lifestyle. Whilst people continue to want it NOW, and not think well maybe that can wait for another few years then debt will continue to explode.

All I can comment through experience is that 'wealth' accumulation isn't done overnight but it takes decades of hard work and sacrificing all the wants of today to enable you to have a 'comfortable' lifestyle later.
